Chapter 7 - Organized Planning

‘Men who succeed reach decisions promptly, and change them, if at all, very slowly. Men who fail, reach decisions, if at all, very slowly, and change them frequently, and quickly.’ Napoleon Hill

Hi Everyone!

In this chapter you are presented with exercises that enable you to begin to self analyse and plan to market your personal services. The past chapters have been predominantly focussed on helping you decide what you do want, and have encouraged and placed you in a position to believe that you are able to achieve all that you desire. Now the practical steps begin.

Hill discusses 10 simple attributes to avoid when considering enduring leadership. The fourth major cause of failure in leadership is FEAR OF COMPETITION FROM FOLLOWERS. I want to comment on this by referring to Wallace Wattle in ‘The Master Key System’ as he discusses the necessity for manifesting creatively rather than competitively. It may be something to consider when you are engaged in a pursuit. Are you engaging creatively...or competitively? What are your motives for your pursuit? Is it for you...or is it to rise above someone else? Competitive creating is very fear based and does not endure for long and usually results in LEADERSHIP by FORCE. When you engage in this mindset you cause resistance. You are against the ‘flow’ of your manifestation.

Hill goes on to provide precise steps to take to ensure you get the exact position you apply for. Although this book was written in the pre computer era, these principles can be easily applied to blogs, business profiles, websites or prospectuses. Inserting a photograph is a great step to follow. Everybody wants to see who they are dealing with. You can notice this yourself when reading through blogs or websites. You may be thinking that you are not the most photogenic person on the planet. If this is the case, I would like to share with you that there have been psychological studies into the reason why the majority of us do not like to see photos of ourselves and the results were that when we look at an image of ourselves we see it much crisper and brighter than if we were looking at a photo of someone else. So now that you know that that ‘bad photo’ is just an optical illusion... let’s see you!

Hill finishes this great chapter with a light-hearted analogy of capitalism. This is one of the greatest stories in this book and had a profound effect on my perception of everyday consumerism. I promise you that after reading this story you will never look at your breakfast in the same way. And every time I come across orange juice from Florida...I always have to giggle to myself.

I really hope you enjoy this chapter and are well on your way to being exactly where you want to be. You have the tools...so start planning!

Happy Manifesting!

Julieanne
