Chapter 8 - Decision

‘Tell the world what you intend to do, but first show it.’ Napoleon Hill

Hi Everyone!

We have all met people who are ‘going to do this’ or ‘going to do that’ and then nothing comes of it. We may even be a little guilty of this ourselves.

Have you ever had a brilliant idea and exasperatingly ran around telling everyone about your fantastic idea, only to find yourself feeling very deflated by the end of it and putting your idea back on the shelf.

When we discuss our ideas before we have taken first actions to get our idea in motion we are giving away our energy; energy that would be better placed in rendering action. Not only this, but we are inadvertently displaying our lack of self-confidence as we search for approval of our ideas. Everybody has opinions; and sometimes they are worth listening to, but more often than not you would be much better to follow your own mind.

When we learn to be quick decision makers we show anybody that is watching that we have confidence in our abilities to achieve our goals.

If this is not something you have considered before then start to practice making quick decisions. Become aware whenever you are making a decision as to how you come to arrive at a decision. Do you dither and consider all possibilities or do you know what you want?

Of course there are instances when you need further information to come to a decision but even then you can make a quick decision to find the information you need.

The most important point to remember is to begin the process of achieving your goal before you announce it to everyone. If you remember this, the reactions from friends and family with this new approach may be reward enough. You will have not only shown them the belief you have in yourself but also your ability to make things happen! Who knows... you may even inspire them!

Don’t give your energy away – use it to begin your plans!

Over the next week become aware of your decision making process, as Hill assures us -

‘The world has the habit of making room for the man whose words and actions show that he knows where he is going.’

Remember... The quicker, the better!

Happy Manifesting!

I do that all the time. I make great proclimations about doing stuff and then somehow or another they don't work out and I feel like I've failed. The next time I say I'm going to do something- no one believes me or they think I'm crazy. My own kids have even said "Ah, you won't do that- you now you won't" It's very disheartening and I feel defeated before I even start. Next time "mums the word"

It is still a conscious decision for me as I can be quite a chatterbox. But this is how we form habits by consciously making a decision to act in a certain way and as it is continually repeated our subconscious mind eventually accepts it as truth. It is very empowering when you choose to keep quiet for a little longer.

I have done this so many times,(give my energy away) on ideas for so many projects. All it takes is one little comment from someone who has good intentions, but it can leave your idea in a heap on the floor.

It is such a simple idea but has very powerful results. The more you keep it to yourself the more excited you get about doing it. That energy is the energy you should be using for achieving your goals.
