I wrote this review for my friends at Soul Solutions Healing Group and thought I would share it with you. The team are in their 9th week of their radio show and are currently discussing the Workbook Lessons from 'A Course In Miracles'. Their listeners are growing every week and the show is great for a lighthearted and informative discussion. You can follow the links to access the show or use the Blogtalk Radio badge on this blog.

Hello everyone!

We would like to share that Episode #9 of the SSG Talk Show is now available for listening/download. You may access the show for free on the SSG Team Blog, via iTunes, as well as at our show's Blogtalkradio address.

This week, Todd and Ronnie discussed Lessons 30 & 31 following the subjects that arose while surrendering to spirit. The show aired for 1.5 hours with approximately one hour discussing ‘Lesson 30’ and the remaining half an hour discussing ‘Lesson 31’.

Lesson #30 ‘God is in everything I see because God is in my mind’

Lesson 30 expands on previous lessons and continues to build upon them. It speaks about a new kind of projection of perception. If we merely perceive the world with our eyes, we become more susceptible to the laws of this world because this world is an effect of our perception of it. We don’t need physical eyes for internal vision which is the only true reality. If we are seeing from a God perspective, we are seeing God’s vision through the eyes of love and we are seeing as God would have us see the world. The more love and compassion that is expressed, the more of God’s vision is seen. If God is in us and we are choosing to acknowledge Him it is easier to see God in everything, as your world is reliant on your perception of it.

What we see in the world is an effect of our perception of it. When we continually react to the world, then we have forgotten that we have created the world as we see it. This brings with it the thought that if I am the creator of my world, through my perception, then I am the source of my world. If I am the source of my world then God is in everything I see because God is in my mind. It is the ego that creates the false reality, and remembering this helps to keep us spiritually centred. The more we become aware of this, the more natural this perception becomes to us.

When we listen to someone’s perspective, we gain an idea of how they perceive the world and also how they perceive themselves. How we view the world is how we view ourselves inside. With this in mind we can truly understand how we view God. How we view ourselves is the only way to truly see as the rest is an effect of that view.

Todd spoke about 2 levels of living. One level is just seeing and reacting to circumstances and situations and the other level is choosing your perception. We can’t separate how we see God from how we see ourselves.

When asking the question ‘Why does God do this?’ or ’Why does God allow this to happen?’ we find that the real question is ‘Why do I have this perception?’ Many people use God as a scapegoat, but we have created our image of God. When people ask these questions about God they are so revealing, as these statements always say I am not ready to take responsibility and would rather start blaming things or situations on God. Once we start to take responsibility, we start opening doors for new learning.

We can lock ourselves into a perception because we would rather not give an explanation that is not blaming God. When issues of morality come up interesting things come out of people. In essence we can hear someone saying that what God did is not right. We each have our own perspective. We are sometimes so caught up in the stress and disappointments we create for ourselves that we are not aware that there is another perspective, and ACIM is about untying these perspectives. We have the option to decide how we will let any situation affect us. We are a product of our reactions. Our reactions become our experiences.

Where does real vision come from? It is the vision inside of us that determines our success.

Ego stimulates fear so that it can impose some sort of limitation and keep us choosing that thought. The actual thought is meaningless but it is an invitation from the ego to choose where we will place the energy of that thought. In the moment the ego knows your vulnerabilities choose to deny the ego. The reason those thoughts arise is because the ego knows that when we are weak a fear can be placed in the mind. When we are standing in our power we see that these thoughts are not legitimate or real. Fleeting thoughts may cross our mind and we can choose to make them into something or choose to go into another direction and deny the ego power. The ego needs fear to strengthen itself. The ego is our fear, separation, competition, anger and anytime we give that concept our energy we are feeding our ego. We have consciousness, and our consciousness can be used for many things. Victimization consumes our consciousness. If we free up our consciousness and get centred and surrender to the Holy Spirit we will change our programming and the ego will be pushed away. We will reconnect with spirit and become grounded again.

When we are able to get to the point of being able to see everything with God in it, we will have extraordinary vision, which is what this lesson is starting to introduce us to.

Lesson#31 ‘I am not the victim of the world I see’

When we detach and step back from a situation we free ourselves from the ego so that we are not being victimized by the ego.

This lesson ties in with living in expectation, desire and a need to control. The more we feel we are a victim, the more stress and disappointment we create for ourselves. How much of our lives do we spend in expectation? If there has been a disappointment and we choose to monitor our reaction to it, we will recognize when we are living in expectation. When we react negatively to a situation, it shows us that we have fears and expectations, which may include fear of the world seeing that we are not in control in our false reality. Anytime there is a setback it shows us that we are living in a state of expectation, which is a form of control. Living in acceptance gives us the freedom to live with our higher consciousness.

Expectation and disappointment are closely related. Think about times when we are in situations that upset us. We play the victim role when we move out of our spiritual center. Anger may appear to feel more powerful because we are exerting force, which can be looked upon as a show of strength but it is really a show of fear.

Respond to life with compassion. If we can, it releases so many fears and allows us to become conscious of our choices and surrender for a better version of God’s vision. See with love; react with love instead of reacting out of fear. When ego responds, the first thing it blocks is compassion and compassion is one of the highest expressions of God. The ego needs us to choose the ego. This is why detachment and centering are so important to spiritual success. Being able to step back is how we become aware that we do have choices.

Just beautiful Julieanne. Nothing more to say. You have captured it and explained it all so easily. Great work.

Love and Fear...all there really ever is. It all stems or appears from one or the other.
