We keep hearing it. Live in the Now. Forget the past. The future is not determined. But what does it really mean and what are the benefits of denying the illusion of reality that is the past and the future?

We know that the past no longer exists and the future is not in existence yet, but why do we insist on holding on and creating our story? What would happen if we changed the story? What would happen if we released control? Ironically it is sometimes scary for us to surrender ourselves to love.

Eckhart Tolle speaks simply about these ideas but you cannot be told. You can only be guided. It is for you to find.

Abraham-Hicks stated that "You are so close to the reality that you are creating, that you sometimes can't see the bigger picture." Or put another way ‘You can’t see the forest for the trees.’

It comes back to you. Do you have the courage to surrender? Do you have the courage to surrender your identities that you have worked so hard for? Can you forgive? And most importantly can you forgive yourself? Can you begin to see the past rather than continually reliving it?

Consider where you were last year at this time. Are you in the same position? Have you lived your life in the past year to arrive back at the same point? If this is the case then you have missed the call to be a better and more aligned You.

What happens when we place flowers in a vase? They eventually wilt and die and we go in search of new flowers to place in the vase. However if flowers are planted in the right circumstances they will continue to bloom year after year. You are the soil. You can choose to supply yourself with the necessary focus for growth.

So often when we reach a place that we think is satisfactory for us, we become stagnant and just like the flowers in the vase we are beautiful for a while but not for long.

Choosing to take time to be in the present moment is how we get the nutrients needed for the flower to continually bloom. We have to love ourselves enough to take the time to be with ourselves.

It is a denying of the illusion of reality. The illusion being that the past and future should be a part of our present experience.

When you choose to take time for yourself there is an inevitable peace to be found. A beautiful joy... a calming serenity. You are free...

Do you have the courage to be in a state of love?

Happy Manifesting!

This is a message I've been thinking about lately. It has been/continues to be difficult to release the ideas I have defined myself by, but I think I am finally beginning to learn how to do that.

I do take comfort in the fact that I am not the same me as I was last year and that every moment opens me up to another chance at growth. Every so often instead of judging ourselves on where we feel we "should be" we just have to be grateful to be where we are now.

Thank you for this beautiful post. I believe it will inspire and lift up many.

Blessed Be. Namaste.

Hi Melanie!

Love your comment - 'Every so often instead of judging ourselves on where we feel we "should be" we just have to be grateful to be where we are now.'

That is a beautiful shift in perception.

Thanks for visiting!

Merry Meet!

Hi Julianne, As always a beautiful post! You have a great way with words, a true gift.

I think Tolle is sometimes misunderstood by many but you have explained it so well.

Tolle teaches that we not live in the past nor the future but to be in the present. Yet, we know that all we do is learned behaviour from a past. Without a past, we could not function.. Our mind is trained to use this learned behaviour for any future acts. For our mind, there is rarely a present. It is almost always a past and a future. But when we are able to go beyond mind, then we are able to see the present. Like looking at a beautiful butterfly and being mesmerized. We're not thinking, just enjoying its beauty..

This is really what Tolle teaches us, right? To experience this present and to realize that in reality, that is all there ever is. Past is gone and future will never arrive. There is always only this moment.

Talk soon!

Hi Lydia!

Thank you :)

It is so true the future will never arrive. That just clicked with me.

I had a beautiful present moment this morning. I went for a walk early this morning to a cliff overlooking the ocean. The sun was just coming up and was sparkling over the water. It doesn't sound like much but when I stopped and really just became present it was so beautiful. When we are present it is like everything becomes so much more beautiful. It makes me wonder how much beauty we miss worrying about illusion.

Speak soon!
